Chipmunk will stand by Chris Brown
The 20-year-old – who joined forces with the American star on the Londoner’s second album Transition and his No.2 British hit single Champion – reckons that working alongside the Forever hitmaker proved to be the “biggest learning experience” of his musical career.
Chipmunk – whose real name is Jahmaal Noel Fyffe – spoke to entertainment website BANG Showbiz about teaming up with the 22-year-old, saying that he “would stand behind Chris as a talented artist until the day I die”.
The Oopsy Daisy hitmaker added that Chris is “my friend and I will always support him” – no matter his personal problems.
Chipmunk also recently spoke of his admiration for the R’n’B star – who was in 2009 convicted of assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna – stating that Chris was the only singer who could provide the vocal performance he was looking for on Champion.
Chipmunk, who has notched five top-10 British hit singles, pointed out that the lyrics for Champion came “from the heart – it’s a true story”.
The English star continued by saying that he “felt every single word and Chris meant every single word” because he “didn’t want it to feel like I was just moaning about life – I wanted to uplift the people – so I knew it needed something…it needed belting out”.
With that in mind, Chipmunk only ever considered one artist for the job because “nobody else is going to sing this better than” Chris.
