Three Colorful PSP Value Packs Coming To Japan This Summer
On July 28, a new PSP bundle will go on sale in Japan. Sony’s latest value pack includes a PSP-3000, 2GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, pouch, cleaning cloth, AC adapter, and a 1200 mAh battery for 17,800 yen ($221).
This value pack will be available in three colors: piano black, blossom pink, and vibrant blue. While Sony tends to pack games with PSP hardware in North America, usually games are reserved for limited edition PSP models in Japan.
Sony Computer Entertainment America is targeting price conscious consumers back at home with dual packs containing two PSP games in one package. Secret Agent Clank Or, a buyer could wait six months and get a Vita, which also plays PSP games (PSN downloads anyway), for only $30 more for the Wifi only model. I imagine this will sell some, but I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble. I expect most people who want a PSP have one, especially as much better as the PSP did over there. Unless the Vita is going to sell higher in Japan, I just can’t imagine that much demand for new colored PSP-3000s. …even if I do really like that shade of blue. WHY don’t they come out with these colors earlier? My silver and black PSPs are so dull. Seriously, if the portable systems launched in a rainbow of colors, I would be WAY quicker to buy them (on a side note, the 3DS has the worst colors yet). I hope the Vita has at least 3 colors to choose from. I loved the colors of the Gameboy Color. What happened to those days?
