OOPS. COP LEAVES TACTICAL ASSAULT RIFLE ON TOP OF SQUAD CAR TRUNK
(SEATTLE, WA) -- Hey, it happens. You’ve heard of parents leaving a hotel on vacation and forgetting to put one of the kids in the car and driving off?Well, this is a version of that tale only with a gun in place of the kid.
The Seattle Police Department said Tuesday it is launching an internal investigation into an AR-15 tactical assault rifle that was left out in the open on the trunk of a patrol car.
The rifle was spotted by a passerby who took a picture of the rifle and sent it to The Stranger newspaper in Seattle which posted the photo on it’s blog Tuesday here
Exactly how the rifle got there wasn’t released but one broadcast report said a an officer cleaning out his car left the rifle on the trunk, forgot about it and then another officer came over and drove the squad car away with the rifle still on the trunk.
