Ten fight team students from LaSala's Dojo Combative Martial Arts competed in the Blitz Tournament in Kissimmee June 12. The team took five first-place trophies, four second-place and three third-place medals. Zach Hill, 10, took fifth place in traditional kata and fifth in points sparring. William Hills, 11, took first in continuous fighting and fifth in traditional kata. Miles Tyler McGrew, 14, took first in points sparring and second in traditional kata. Amber Gonzalez, 6, took first in traditional kata and first in points sparring. Sebastian Calix, 6, took fifth in traditional kata and fifth in points sparring. Dustin Karlson, 15, took second place in continuous fighting, second place in points sparring and fifth in traditional kata. April Garcia, 10, took first place in points sparring and fifth in traditional kata. Corey Brangan-LaSala, 10, took third place in traditional kata and fifth in points sparring. Brooke Brangan-LaSala, 7, took fourth place in points sparring and fifth in traditional sparring. Olivia Dodd, 8, took second place in points sparring and third in traditional kata.

The Police and Fire Games 10K was held at Greenriver Parkway in Jensen Beach on June 20. Christine Davis of the Fort Pierce Police Department, finished second in the Women's Police and Fire Overall with a time of 52:43.34. David Moss of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office placed third in the Men's Police and Fire Overall with a time of 42:32.87.

The Police and Fire Games Triathlon was held at Jaycee Park in Fort Pierce on June 18. There were 67 participants in the event. The Women's Police and Fire Overall was won by Tracy Kubiak, who had a time of 1:14:55.22. The Men's Police and Fire Overall was won by Randy Caballezo, who had a time of 1:06:11.56.

Martin County Parks & Recreation is hosting its Annual Summer Race Series. All races are 5K and will be held at 7 p.m. on the third Friday in July and August. Preregistration is $25 per race. Race-day registration is $35. Register online at www.active.com . Age divisions are 10 and under through 70 and older. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group, male and female masters and overall. Races will be held July 15 at the County Administration Building, 2401 S.E. The Hobe Sound Public Library, 10595 S.E. Federal Highway, is hosting a virtual golf and bowling program at 11 a.m. Wednesdays. The program is free and open to adults ages 18 and older. No experience necessary.
