Police Report: Motor Oil in Pond, Dead Flowers, Pool Mischief
Motor Oil Found in PondThe Rochester Hills Fire Department's HazMat (hazardous materials) team was called to a pond in the King's Cove neighborhood Friday morning to inspect an unidentified oily substance.
Investigators determined the material to be motor oil, according to an Oakland County Sheriff's Office report. There are no suspects in the dumping incident.
Gas Can Stolen, Flowers KilledA gasoline can was reported stolen Monday morning from a shed in the 60 block of Cloverport. The homeowner told sheriff's deputies she previously had reported a leaf blower stolen; this time, the homeowner reported, the thief also poured "what smells like Roundup" on a pot of flowers. The flowers were dead when sheriff's officers arrived, according to the report.
There are no suspects in the incident, and officers advised the homeowner to install a lock on the shed.
Items Missing From CarsTwo thefts were reported to sheriff's deputies from the Fairview Farms subdivision Monday morning. In the 1000 block of Whispering Knoll Drive, a $100 GPS unit was reported missing; in the 1300 block of Horseshoe Bend, a GPS charger and cash was reported stolen, the report said. There are no suspects.
Sprinkler Controller StolenAn employee of Plas-Tec, 1926 Northfield Dr., reported a copper sprinkler controller stolen from the building's exterior Tuesday morning, according to a sheriff's office report.
Brick Breaks WindowAn employee of Rochester Tool & Cutting Service, 1700 E. Auburn Rd., reported a broken window at the business on Tuesday morning; sheriff's officers discovered a brick nearby, according to a report.
Furniture and More Thrown Into PoolAn employee at Park Place of Rochester Hills discovered pool furniture, garbage cans and first-aid cans thrown into the pool at the complex Saturday morning, according to a sheriff's report.
Several items were found thrown over the pool area's fence, and lights around the pool were damaged, the report said.
