To mark our one-year anniversary Mark took me on holiday to Russia. On an ice rink, he suddenly pulled me to him and said: ‘Do you love me? Do you love me enough to be my wife?’ I said yes. I was so happy. 

After that, we slept together and it was better than we could ever have imagined.

We married in Cyprus, near where we first met, in the courtyard of a beautiful old house. I don’t regret waiting at all — it has made our relationship stronger. I felt special because I knew he loved and cherished me so much he was prepared to wait.
