Hello everyone,

School resumes in 4 weeks! I hope everyone is having a sucessful summer, whether you are playing club, summer league, or working out on your own.

Move-In weekend is the best opportunity to recruit. There are a number of events and activities that we participate in to recruit.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 20: Bear Crew shifts. Times to be announced later. (We help students move into the residence halls.)

SATURDAY, AUGUST 21: Bear Crew shifts. Times to be announced later. (We may also play pick-up afterwords.)

SUNDAY, AUGUST 22: Bear Crew shifts. Times to be announced later.
SUNDAY, AUGUST 22: New Student Festival: 2pm (We will have a booth with 4 workers while others are outside representing by wearing jerseys and throwing hammers and other throws I will complain about if you ever threw them in a game.) We will also have a team dinner in the evening following pick-up, time and location to be announced later.

I hope everyone who is in Springfield this weekend will be able to help out. We will have sign-up posts in a few weeks. Now is the time to start preparing for the Fall Season if you haven't begun to already!

Men, we will be having a First-of-the-Year meeting this Thursday, August 19. Be sure to try and arrive promptly at 5:15 and the meeting will start at 5:30 sharp. We will be discussing items for the year, which will include: practices, goals for the year, move in weekend, etc. It is very important to have as many in attendance as possible, so please try to be there. Location is to be determined, so continue to check for updates this week.

Bear Crew is also this weekend and we are again signed up to work, as this is an excellent way to try and recruit. We are signed up in shifts from 8:00am-5:00pm. We will receive our shift times and places at the meeting tomorrow afternoon. We will need as many people to help as we can. Once we receive our shifts you will be able to sign up on the board.

The New Student Festival is also this Sunday, August 22. We will have a booth in the PSU for the new students to come to, but we are only allowed 4 persons at our table. That means we need as many others as we can throwing around outside on campus recruiting and being seen. NSF lasts until 4:30, after which we will have a pickup game at 5:00 to get all that we recruited out and meeting people. The first week of practice will also be pickup.

The first official practice will be Tuesday, August 24. Be ready to play.
