Let's just go ahead and say that we are going to meet inside of Hammons at 5:30 for a similar practice as last week, and maybe even some chalk talk!

Barefoot running

What do you think? I've heard a lot of talk about it in the past couple of years and can definitely see how it could help running form and reduce injuries. There was a guy from Columbia when I was just starting to play ultimate who would only run barefoot, at the time I thought he was crazy, well I still kind of do because we were all wearing cleats.

Has anyone done any significant barefoot running?

Also there is a lot of good info on this site. It was passed on to me from a CLX teammate.

Hey everyone!

Here are a couple links in case anyone wants to follow along with how we, The Chad Larson Experience (CLX), is doing.

www.wucc2010.com the tournament website

http://www.strizna.cz/ where you can watch the showcase games of the day and finals.

We are supposed to play in the showcase game on day 2 (at 6:30pm in their time not sure when that is here)
I think you'll be able to watch it later too.

https://twitter.com/clxbttp this is the twitter account for the team, not sure if it will be update often or just at the end of the day or even at all

http://scores.wucc2010.com/?view=poolstatus&Pool=1009 Here is also the score reporting page. We are in the Mixed Pool B for the first two days, after that I am not sure what power pool we'll be in.

It's getting to be that time again. Who is going to be around this summer to play and what days do we want to play?

I am assuming Summer League will be on Thursdays again whenever it starts up. I would like to play another day too. What day works best for the most people? Tuesdays? Wednesdays? Mondays? And do we want to keep it at 6:30 or move it up to 6?

Personally I would like Tuesdays (and Thursdays til summer league starts) at 6:30 but can play any day. But it might be better to say 6 so that we have enough by 6:30 as "ultimate time" becomes more and more evident during the summer months.

I was talking with Aaron "Whiskey" Witzke, from Drury, about maybe doing some scrimmages against each other. I understand practice time is limited because of the crap weather we've had, but this could be a good way to make up for lost time. Playing against other teams and seeing other strategies other than your own can help when you get to tournaments. I also know that they are a young team and might not be the type of competition you are looking for, but I still think there are things to be gained from playing against them. You can use these games to teach your young players how to win games, or close out games and have a bigger role on the team. This can also be a good way to try out new strategies against an opponent that doesn't know what is coming. It's hard to run plays on your own team that knows the exact play that is coming.

I am not saying this would be a "gimme" game either. Drury has some great athletes and throwers. If you were at the Awesome Bowl then you saw a few of them. I think you guys would get your money's worth, so to speak.

Also, you could extend this offer to the C of O team from Branson. And if you want a bigger challenge and better competition, see a wide variety of skill sets, strategies, offensively and defensively then you could try to play against and "All-Springfield team" that Doug and I could try to get together. Aaron said that Drury has a lighted full turf field they can use so even if the weather is not ideal the game can still happen.

These are just some thoughts to try an get perhaps three games and the team up to speed quickly once the weather turns warmer.
